Design Color Inspiration for Fall 2011

Pantone ColorsPantone, authorities on all things color in graphic design, fashion, interior design, and more, has released its picks for the fall 2011 season. Pantone asked designers from NY Fashion Week what colors they’re seeing and favoring for the upcoming season, and have come back with natural, neutral shades with a splash of citrus and floral inspired color.

If you’re updating your print marketing materials, take heed of the Pantone survey results for a good idea of what will be catching eyes and turning heads in the coming back-to-school, harvest time and Oktoberfest months.

Among the colors chosen in Pantone’s survey are subtle tones like “Nougat” (warm tan) and “Coffee Liqueur” (rich brown), and “Cedar” (a neutral green), which make an excellent backdrop for brighter, eye-popping contrast colors like “Raspberry Wine”.

You can match or draw inspiration from Pantone’s fall picks by using PrintRunner’s design tool, which lets you choose from a huge palette of tints and shades for your print pieces’ backgrounds, text, and other graphic elements. Select a highly specific color using RGB or HSB values. You can also upload your own logos and designs for a truly custom product.
