Photo Business Cards

One of the most important tools to your marketing arsenal is your personal business card.  Your business card is the bridge to building connections in social and business environments.  When meeting new contacts presenting your business card is a way to cement a connection and encourage further interaction down the road.  Since business cards are such a relationship builder, nearly any business minded person will have one.  This means business cards can pile together anonymously as they are collected by the recipient.  How do you make certain that your business card doesn't get lost in the shuffle?  Use a photo on your business card to make your card stand out.

Using a photo business card to market yourself and your company is the best choice when creating a business card that is going to serve the true purpose of building connections.  Statistically speaking, people are visual learners.  When shown just text, the text may be memorized however without a visual aid to substantiate the text, the text may not have as much meaning.  Putting a photo with the text exponentially increases the level of meaning associated with the word.  This is seen in the fundamental building blocks of learning language.  When a child is taught to read, words are usually correlated with pictures.  If the word “balloon” is being taught then a picture of a balloon is on the flash card.  The way our brains process learning new things does not change much over the years.  Applying this same learning process to your business cards, it is much more likely that the recipient of your card will remember who you are if they have a face to attach to the name on the card.

Photo business cards are especially effective when they are printed with a glossy finish.  A photo is clearer, sharper, and more impressive when there is a glossy finish to the printed business card.  This is true for either black and white image or color images.  When choosing between black and white and color printing for your business card, just keep in mind the image you wish to project.  A black and white photo is perhaps more stately and traditional while a color photograph is modern and attention-grabbing.  Your line of business will dictate the proper route to take.  The type of photograph will also help decide the matter of black and white versus color.

A photo business card can be more than just portraits as well.  If you are not comfortable with putting your own image on your business card then there are other options for utilizing visual aids on your business card.  Having a photo of your main product of your company or of an award your business is known for.  No matter the type of photograph you decide to use on your business card, you are sure to get more mileage out of your card if you incorporate a photograph in addition to your text.
