Turn Window Shoppers Into Customers With Window Clings

Need a temporary sign for your window or glass panel? Static window clings are the best choice. Vinyl material firmly clings to the surface, but doesn't leave adhesive residue. Unlike permanent decals (which are technically wall stickers) window clings use static electricity to stick on smooth surfaces.

Apply window cling printing to your storefront window and send a message that’s loud and clear. Take advantage of unused prime real estate of your company vehicle, or office building windows. This easy-peel material is also perfect for short-term or seasonal promotions like Valentine’s Day promos, those great Black Friday sales, or your month-long Christmas discount.

Stick to the Tried and Tested

How window clings stick isn’t magic. It’s just good ‘ol science—and some thin, flexible vinyl. Instead of adhesive, static allows vinyl to stick to clean smooth surfaces like glass, metal, or plastic.

Here’s why window clings are awesome for advertising:

  • Two vinyl materials. Choose from either white or clear 8 mm. vinyl static cling. White static cling shows off your artwork vibrantly while clear static clings looks like it’s printed right on the glass.
  • No mess. Window clings don’t need adhesive, so they won’t leave residue during installation or removal.
  • Sticks on the non-printed sides. Static cling window films stick to smooth surfaces from the non-printed side for white static clings.
  • Repositionable. Since permanent adhesive isn’t used you can easily move it around until you find the perfect spot.
  • Reusable. As long as the non-printed side is applied to the mounting surface, window cling printing can be used again and again.
  • Hassle-free installation. Application can be done in a few simple steps.

Look In or Out

The next thing you need to do is decide which side of the window cling do you want to stick to your window, wall, counter, or floor:

Applied behind the window.
The print will be on the cling side which will stick to the glass. Your static cling will be protected from outside elements but is not ideal for tinted windows.

Applied in front of the window. The side with no printing adheres to the surface. This offers maximum visibility even from a distance and is perfect for tinted windows.

Install in 4 Simple Steps

First, clean up. Clean and remove any dust or residue on your mounting surface so your static window cling film will attach properly.
Second, wash up. Wet the surface thoroughly with dishwashing soap and warm water.
Third, peel away. Peel the window cling backing at 2” from the top before peeling the rest away. Apply cling to the still wet surface. The soapy surface makes it easy to move the vinyl cling around to fix the position.
Lastly, press. Take a squeegee, ruler, or even a business card and press on the window cling film in a downwards swiping motion to secure cling to the surface. This will also remove any liquid, air, or soap bubbles trapped inside.

Present a Daring New Look

Get the most out of your window cling printing with these handy design tips that will get all the attention:

Maximize all spaces. Utilize every square inch available in your space. Take advantage of the wide variety of sizes of window clings we offer – from as small as 3” x 3” to as large as 120” x 53.” The bigger the size, the bolder the impact, and the better your bottom line.

Be bold. Create the most impact with a high contrast design. Go with brightly colored graphics and make your storefront stand out against a row of similar-looking buildings. Use large, strong fonts so your message will be easily noticed by everyone who passes by.

Use images. Photos can convey an instant message. For restaurants, displaying large images of your popular dishes in your store windows not only advertises what you offer but also entices customers to come in.

Design for the seasons. Print window clings for seasonal events like Halloween, Christmas, or your summer sale. You can reuse these decorative window clings for years to come, saving you time and money.

Question and Answer

It really depends on the type of window you have. Decals installed from the inside will be protected from the outdoor elements but will not be as easily seen from the outside if the window is tinted. Decals applied from the outside work best for tinted windows.

Yes, several times as long as they remain clean. Window clings will lose their stickiness due to dirt build up or if not used for a long time. They will also not stick properly to surfaces that are too wet.

White static clings are made of a 150–micron PET film, while clear decals are made of a 180–micron PET film.

As of now we offer sizes from 3" x 3" to as large as 120" x 53". Currently, we do not offer custom-shaped window clings.

Go White or Clear?

Can’t decide between a white or clear static cling? Here’s a list of things to know before making that decision:

White Static Cling

Your design is printed on a white static cling base for a vibrant display that's easy to read from a distance.

  • Perfect for ads that have clear-cut text or pricing
  • Easy-to-apply, thick vinyl static cling
  • Great for window graphics and POP displays
  • Non printed side can be applied to a smooth surface
  • Not see-thru.
  • Unprinted surfaces will be an opaque white
  • Removable, repositionable, and reusable
  • Reusable only if non-printed side is applied to glass

Clear Static Cling

Your artwork is printed on a transparent static cling base that gives the effect of being printed on the glass itself. This is very effective for graphics with see-through elements.

  • Ideal for showcasing logos or branding
  • Easy-to-apply thick vinyl static cling
  • Great for window graphics and POP displays
  • Non printed side can be applied to a smooth surface
  • Optional white ink adds opacity to areas where it is applied
  • Areas without white ink (HPI white) will be clear
  • Removable, repositionable and reusable

White Ink Options

White ink gives a solid color to your artwork. When you’re going with a clear static cling there are white ink options available so you can decide how much transparency you want in your window decal. Even if your file is not set up to have white ink layers, we can add them in based on your selections below:

Make Only the Background Clear

All text and images will have white ink underneath, making them opaque and easier to read. The background will remain transparent. This is the most popular choice.

Make White Areas Clear

Only the text, images, and background that are white will be transparent. All other design elements will have white ink underneath and will be opaque.

Make Everything Transparent

The entire sticker will be transparent or see-through. There is no layer of white ink. This option is not recommended for window decals containing small text.

Follow File Settings

Choose this option if you have set up your file with the correct Transparency and HPT-White layers. We will print as is.
